Exciting things are happening in the studio! I’m thrilled to share that I signed with a local artisan shop here in town to sell my miniature artwork. Fairy Falls

Fairy Falls; Original Artwork by DVD © 2025

Wow, this was a fun one! Lately, I’ve been drawn to fairy art. I currently an developing my fairy characters for my art. This is the water fairy. The Mushroom Fairy is not visible. Perhaps she is inside the red door. This piece took me about 16 hours total. I can feel my art style evolving. I’m also noticing more depth in my compositions. This is painted on a 9 x 12 canvas board using Golden acrylic paint.

Wow, this one was such a joy to create! Lately, I’ve been really drawn to fairy art and have been developing my own fairy characters. This piece features the Water Fairy — the Mushroom Fairy isn’t visible here; perhaps she’s tucked away behind the little red door.

It took about 16 hours to complete, painted on a 9×12 canvas board using Golden acrylics. I can feel my art style evolving with each piece. I’m starting to notice more depth and dimension in my compositions.

Putting my art out there…

Letting Go: Donating My First Miniature Artworks

Until now, all of my art has been fairly hard to find—and that’s mostly been by design. I tend to get deeply attached to each piece I create. Letting go has always been the hard part.

But this week, that changed.

For the first time, I released five miniature works of art out into the world. It felt like the right moment, and I wanted my first experience sharing my art to be meaningful—so I chose to do it through a charity.

These pieces have been donated to Radiant Community Arts, a nonprofit organization based in Eugene, Oregon. They do incredible work offering art classes, gallery exhibitions, and community events that help keep creativity alive and accessible.

Each of my donated pieces reflects the direction my style is starting to take—landscapes and whimsical content that make me feel something, and hopefully, others too. I’m still exploring and evolving, but it’s exciting to see my own voice begin to take shape.

If you’re in the area, I’d love for you to come out and support the cause. The silent auction will be held on September 21st, at the Fifth Street Alley in Eugene, from 3:00 to 6:00 PM.

It’s a small step for my art, but a big one for me.

Price: Silent Auction prices start at $3.00

Bubbles in Moonlight ~ Process

I’m trying something new this summer. I bought three wicker mats at our local discount store. I decided to paint on each one to create a mural for our back fence. Painting on wicker was interesting and challenging. The texture of the wicker caused the paint to blend in unexpected ways. It adds a nice effect to the finished work. I’m excited to share with you my process to create “Bubbles in Moonlight.” It is the first in the series of wicker mat murals. ‘Bubbles in Moonlight,’ an original acrylic painting by DVD © 2025
